By the Book: Your Favorite Stories Come Alive
Behind every doorway lies something new, and around every corner is the possibility to be swept away to a fantasy land.
Nothing beats a good book, especially when you’re young and your imagination soars high. The pictures open your mind to adventure, and the words tell of mysterious and marvelous tales. Books have the power to transform daily life into an escape filled with magic and excitement. What if you could go back to the time when books still had that magical power of blending imagination with real life?
A Stroll through the Story Wonderland
Storybook Island is the place where your family can hear the tales of your favorite characters, watch your favorite nursery rhyme come to life, and reminisce over childhood fables. Ride the train through the park on a sunny day. Stand face-to-face with Dorothy as she and her three new friends, the Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow, set out for Oz. Walk straight into the mouth of a giant whale or catch the Gingerbread Man make his escape. Storybook Island is fun for the kids, but even the adults will get a kick out of recalling all their favorite childhood stories.
A Performance, Perhaps?
What better way to make characters come to life than by performing them at the Storybook Island Children’s Theater? If you’re looking for the extra step in visualizing the books and nursery rhymes, then head on over to the Children’s Theater at Storybook Island, the largest children’s theater in the area. Tickets typically cost $1.00, but the proceeds go directly to the upkeep of the park so your family can enjoy it for years to come.
Light Up Your Holidays
Christmas at Storybook Island is even more enchanting. Thousands of lights are hung with care, and the North Pole wonderland is complete with Santa available for photos with the kids. So even though Storybook Island is closed for the winter season, don’t forget to head down on select days in December to stroll the grounds and bask in their holiday cheer. The cost is typically $2.00 for entrance into the winter wonderland.
Where the Wild Things Are
Storybook Island is where education meets entertainment. Children can learn to love to read, to let their minds take them into the pages of a good book and beyond. They can get to know their favorite children’s book characters and be swept away into the landscape of their favorite authors. Come roam with your wild imagination through Storybook Island.
